Well sitting on the couch minding my own business and I get a txt message from none other than the VicPolice. Was a warning message about some extreme weather expected tonight and tomorrow. Now going beyond the fact that they can just lift my mobile number from who knows where this is a fairly good idea.
I mean people all have phones these days and especially the younger generation. What better way for the police to send out warnings that people might acually read.

Why is it after having your wisdom teeth out your left thinking wtf was I thinking??? This is the state I find myself in after having all 4 wisdom teeth removed on Tuesday. Overall I’ve pulled through alright I guess, only left with pain in 4 spots, numbness on half my mouth and chin oh and can’t open my mouth for real food let alone chew it.
All being said they won’t give me anymore pain providing this pain goes away. It did also score me a week off work to kick back and relax… in pain. Meh who am I kidding I would have rather been working all week. It has given me time to bring the blog up to speed however and sort out a few things around the house so heres to a new start and all that.
More to come soon as 2009 brings with it a new agenda stay tuned…

Well this christmas never went as planned thats for sure. Nothing like waking up christmas morning and finding that your still in hospital. So the story well after winding down at work for the year i partied up last friday for our work xmas party and over indulged I guess you could say. This lead to a very seedy saturday where i looked for lots of sleep and no food to recover.
Sunday was much like any other sunday slept in, hit the gym and just did nothing ready for the last 2 days of work before breaking till the new year. I awake Monday around 4-5 feeling fairly crook which only got worse as the day progressed. This lead me to a visit to the hospital and after a 3 hour visit being sent home with pain killers.
So with the pain still driving me crazy I headed to bed and downed my pain killers. Waking hours later shacking like a madman it was clear I need to get my ass back to the hospital. A new doctor (this ones seemed to know what he was on about) I am diagnosed with apendicitis and tucked into my emergency bed for the night to await a surgical visit in the morning. (more…)

Well I finally decided it was time to re-do my blog as the last one I just never got into and could not get the theme looking the way I wanted it. I have started afresh so if someone really wants the small amount of content back from the old blog it can be recovered but other wise its a all new beginning.
What prompted me to start again was the fact that lately I have really had to search high and low for the solutions to a few problems I have had lately and figured why not document it somewhere useful and it the process make it available to others. My first big post will be on configuring Mythtv and finding the right hardware to handle Digital HDTV as I found out getting all your hardware working in linux can be painful and I have experience with it.
For now I’ll finish getting the blog looking right and working the way it should so stay tuned for some useful information to follow.
